Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Short and honest: root, emulators, Android version, number of phones, internet, antivirus, macOS, security and running overnight
We have gathered the questions people ask most often - before buying and during the first days of work. The answers are short and honest: where the product can do something, we say so; where it depends on the platform or on you, we say that too.
Requirements and compatibility
Do the phones need root?
No. USB debugging is enough. Root is not required anywhere and gives you nothing: the app works through standard Android facilities, namely ADB and the input agent.
Which Android version do I need?
Version 10 or newer. On older firmware, current versions of the social apps and some features behave unpredictably. Choosing handsets is covered in Which phones are right for a farm.
Will emulators work?
No. Lusiesta is built for real phones connected over USB, and emulators are not supported. The whole point of a farm is live devices: emulators produce machine-like fingerprints that get accounts banned in batches.
Does the app run on macOS or Linux?
No, Windows only. There is no web version of the dashboard and no mobile control app either: the website hosts your account area (license, updates, knowledge base), while phone management lives only in the desktop app.
Do I need a dedicated computer for the farm?
Not necessarily. A regular Windows work PC will do; a separate machine is more a matter of convenience, since the app occupies USB ports, keeps a video stream running and has to stay on while tasks are working. The app runs as a single instance - launching it again simply brings the existing window back to the front.
My antivirus flags the installer, is that normal?
It happens: the production build is protected against debugging and unpacking, and some antivirus engines react to that heuristically rather than on the facts. The rule is simple: download the installer only from your account area on lusiesta.com. The client installs updates itself and verifies the checksum and the digital signature before installing - an unsigned update simply will not be installed.
Phones and connection
How many phones can I connect to one computer?
The software ceiling comes from your plan - the device limit of your license (see Plans and the device limit). The physical ceiling comes from your hardware: the number of USB ports, the quality of the hubs and the power supply. Power is usually what runs out first, so buy hubs with their own power adapter. The app takes care of the load on the computer by itself: only what is visible on screen is decoded, and off-screen tiles are stopped completely.
Do the phones themselves need internet?
Yes. A phone publishes and warms up through its own connection, a SIM card or Wi-Fi, and the proxy is set on the device itself. On top of that, some firmwares (MIUI, for example) require internet and a SIM before they let you enable the developer options.
Can I connect phones over Wi-Fi or run the farm remotely?
No. The connection is local only, over USB, from the same computer that runs the app. The product has no remote access to the phones through a server.
Is the Siesta agent mandatory?
For warmup and publishing, yes. The agent is responsible for reliable text input and for reading the state of the screen, and without it such tasks will not even start: the app tells you outright to click “Initialize agent”. Details are in The Siesta input agent.
Accounts and security
Does the app store social network logins and passwords?
No. There is no account manager in the product: you sign in to the social networks by hand on the phone, and from then on the app works with an app that is already signed in. If the session on the phone has expired, the task will say plainly that the account is not authorized.
Is this safe for my accounts?
Risk-free automation does not exist. Real devices, individual proxies and warmup remove the crude triggers, but none of that overrides platform rules - work only with your own accounts.
Nobody can promise that an account will never be blocked: the decision always belongs to the platform. What is genuinely in your hands is not pushing volume from day one, keeping one account on one phone with one proxy, and not fanning the same clip across the entire farm.
What happens to my data on the computer?
Sensitive files are encrypted with Windows facilities and tied to the machine and the user account: your sign-in session, the task list with its parameters, the proxy store and the agent cache. Copied to another computer, those files are useless. In the production build, automation scenarios are never written to disk at all - the body of the scenario you need is pulled from the server into memory at the moment the task starts.
Running the farm
Can I leave the farm working overnight?
Yes, with one condition: the computer has to stay on and must not go to sleep, and the phones have to stay connected. You can minimize the app and shut the video off with “Sleep mode” - tasks do not suffer from that. What unfinished tasks will not survive is a restart of the app or the computer: on the next start they are marked with the error “Interrupted by an app restart”.
Will a scheduled task repeat by itself?
No. A “Scheduled” start is a one-off delayed launch after a set number of hours, not an endless loop. For regular work, queue the next round yourself.
Can I touch the phone while a task is running?
Better not. The scenario navigates by whatever is on the screen right now, and a stray tap from you will throw it off. If you do need to step in, stop the task first and then control the phone straight from its tile: mouse clicks and drags act as taps and swipes, and there is keyboard input and text pasting from the computer.
Does the app create videos and captions for me?
No. There is no clipping, no uniquification and no text generation in it: you supply finished video files and finished captions, and the app spreads them across the devices and uploads them. One publishing run means one video on one device, so ten phones will post ten different clips.
What happens to phones above the plan limit?
They are visible in the system, but tasks will not run on them, and in the grid they hide behind an “Upgrade subscription” tile showing the number of hidden devices. This is deliberate: you can connect the handsets in advance and extend the license once the setup starts paying off.
